Workshop

13.00–17.00Splotching, Splattering, and StainingWorkshop

Rössligasse, Aktsaal

Discover unknown worlds! Graphic arts make use of humans’ ability to recognize faces, characters, and animals in structures they encounter. Fantastical creatures or immense landscapes appear unexpectedly in clouds, in the grain of wood, or in coffee stains. The blot is the root of painting. Once you understand it, everything else is a piece of cake. Illustrator Vanessa Karré and Friedrich Weltzien, specialist for aesthetic theories of the blot, will take you on a journey from the origins of the blot to contemporary practice. Suitable for beginners and pros.

Cost: CHF 60.–

In 2021 there will be a Fumetto Special Edition - a panorama of promising and innovative artists will be shown. The special edition is all about "Total Swissness" and focuses above all on national comic art that can be experienced up close. The next festival will be "Same same, but different", because many things will be the same and yet different. For example, Fumetto changes the forms of presentation and adapts them to our current times. At the same time, Fumetto is breaking new ground, which will certainly remain in the future. What this means in detail will be announced step by step from the beginning of next year.

Fumetto is pleased to present you the Special Edition in 2021 and one thing is already clear: Even with Total Swissness, you can look forward to international flair!
